Job Description

Job Title: Communications Intern

Reporting To: Communications and Events Manager

This internship offers a valuable opportunity to support the Communications and Events Manager in executing all external communications tasks for the foundation. The role requires a 5-month commitment and is based on-site in New York City.

Key Responsibilities (What You’ll Do):

Content Creation: Design compelling graphics and videos for social media and various digital platforms, bringing communications strategies to life. Tools utilized include Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, and CapCut.
Community Engagement: Actively interact with the CACTW community by responding to direct messages, emails, and comments received on social media channels.
Marketing & Outreach Support: Provide assistance with marketing, outreach, and public relations initiatives as needed.
Managerial Support: Aid the Communications and Events Manager with day-to-day tasks and contribute to brainstorming creative ideas for projects.
Data Analysis: Collect and analyze relevant data to inform and refine content strategies, thereby enhancing engagement across platforms.
Asset Management: Systematically archive all communications assets for various projects undertaken by the foundation.

Required Skills & Qualifications (Who You Are):

Academic Status: A current college student.
Location: Based in the New York City (NYC) area.
Technical Proficiency: Skilled in using Canva and CapCut.
Design Acumen: Possesses a strong eye for design and aesthetics.
Passion: Demonstrates a genuine passion for the arts, social impact, and nonprofit communications.
Creativity: A creative thinker, proactive in approach, and full of innovative ideas.
Organizational Skills: Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.

Preferred Skills (Plus):

Language Fluency: Fluency in French or Portuguese is considered a strong asset.

Other Requirements:

Physical Demands: Must be able to tolerate prolonged periods of walking, sitting at a desk, and working on a computer.
Lifting Capability: Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.
Work Location: Must be able to work on-site in New York City.
Commitment: A mandatory 5-month commitment to the internship.
