Job Title: Information Technology Services Internship Program

Location Detail: The primary location is 9 Farm Springs Rd Farmington, CT (10566), with the explicit mention of free parking. Interns should also be prepared for the possibility of working at other HHC locations as needed. The role requires the ability to work onsite.

Program Overview:
This internship program is designed for early career professionals to bridge the gap between academic learning and practical, hands-on experience within Hartford HealthCare’s Information Technology Services (ITS) department. Interns will operate under the direct guidance and mentorship of an assigned manager and mentor, with the goal of increasing both their technical and professional acumen. Participants will contribute independently and/or as part of a team to deliver critical initiatives and projects that support the evolving technology needs of the healthcare system.

Anticipated Areas of Placement: HHC Information Technology Services continuously assesses demand within its teams, anticipating potential openings in a variety of key areas. Interns may be placed in roles related to:
Infrastructure & Networks: Supporting essential systems, networks, and software.
Cloud: Assisting in the transition to and utilization of cloud resources.
Telephony: Providing support for telephone systems and Voice over IP (VoIP).
Cybersecurity: Engaging in efforts to protect networks from unauthorized access.
Service: Offering technical assistance to internal users.
Clinical & Bio Medical: Participating in the integration of various medical devices (e.g., MRI machines, IV pumps).
Applications: Delivering Business Analyst support for both clinical and non-clinical applications.
Data Analytics: Supporting the integration and use of the Google healthcare data engine.
Digital: Contributing to design thinking, human-centered design principles, and mobile application development.
Project Management: Utilizing PMI (Project Management Institute) and Agile methodologies to support technical projects.

Minimal Qualifications:
• Possession of a High School Diploma.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited post High School program.
Full-time availability (Monday-Friday, approximately 40 hours per week).
• Ability to work onsite at Farmington, CT, or other HHC locations.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
Vaccinated (Flu).

Preferred Qualifications:
• Actively pursuing a degree in fields such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Management Information, Data Science, Cybersecurity, Mathematics, Database Management, or other technology-related fields.
• Prior relevant Technology internship or industry experience.
• Demonstrated strong interpersonal & communication skills (both verbal and written).
• Proficient computer skills.
• High level of integrity.
• Qualities of being adaptable/flexible.
• Possessing critical thinking/technical curiosity.
• Strong learning agility.
• Being self-motivated/self-starter.
• Ability to act with a sense of urgency.
• Capable of working both independently and as part of a team.
