Job Description: 2026 Summer Intern – Quantitative Trading
This is an internship opportunity for the 2026 summer within the trading group at GTS. The program is specifically designed for individuals interested in the quantitative trading space.
Overview of the Role:
Interns will work on a diverse range of quantitative projects that directly support production trading strategies. Key project areas include:
• Building analytics tools to assist traders in making real-time trading decisions.
• Analyzing historical trade data to extract insights that inform and refine trading strategies.
• Designing and testing quantitative models for the development of new trading strategies.
Interns will work directly with senior traders throughout the program, having a strong influence on the direction of their projects. This hands-on experience will provide valuable insight into the operations of a trading desk and how traders evaluate trading opportunities. Interns will see their work directly impact the group’s activities and contribute to revenue. The program is positioned as excellent preparation for those seeking graduate positions in quant trading.
Responsibilities:
• Work on interesting quantitative projects to support production trading strategies.
• Learn how to identify, evaluate, and monetize trading opportunities.
• Gain exposure to industry-leading trading systems and tactics.
• Work closely with traders to implement the results of your research and analysis.
Qualifications:
The ideal candidate is a high achiever with a strong quantitative background.
• Education: B.S./M.S. from a leading university in a quantitative discipline such as math, physics, statistics, computer science, engineering, or economics.
• Graduation Year: Class of 2027 or December 2026.
• GPA: Over 3.6/4.0.
• Quantitative Skills: Deep understanding and ability in mathematics and statistics.
• Programming Skills: Strong programming skills in Python and eagerness to improve.
• Communication: Excellent communication skills, particularly the ability to express complex concepts in simple terms.
• Work Ethic: Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Interests: Demonstrated interest in strategic and competitive games.
• Finance Background: A background in finance is not strictly necessary; quantitative skills are prioritized, with the promise to teach the necessary financial knowledge.
