About the Job: Spe Intern Program

This is an Emerging Talent Program offered by Sony Pictures Entertainment (SPE), which includes opportunities for Interns, Trainees, and Finance Rotational Associates. These programs are designed for students, recent graduates, and emerging talent, providing them with unique opportunities to work alongside teams involved in creating movies, TV shows, and other experiences. The internships are described as seasonal, paid assignments that offer meaningful and productive work, aiming to build on existing experience and further develop skills. Participants will be given challenging tasks, real-world experience, and numerous educational and social networking opportunities.

Specifically, this is a Fall Internship, scheduled from September through December 12th, with flexible start and end dates to accommodate school schedules. Interns are required to work 10-29 hours/week and must be able to work in person at the specified office location. This position is ideal for a student currently enrolled in an accredited college or university who is interested in gaining professional experience.

Department Description: B17 Entertainment

The internship is with B17 Entertainment, a full-service production company operating under Sony Nonfiction. B17 Entertainment is based in Los Angeles, California. The company specializes in producing breakthrough content across a variety of genres, including but not limited to cooking shows, game shows, dating shows, and social experiments. Notable recent productions include “Extracted” for FOX, “Blue Ribbon Baking Championship” for Netflix, the Emmy award-winning “Book of Queer” for Discovery+, “The Final Straw” for ABC, and “Thanks A Million with Jennifer Lopez” for Roku. As a leader in content creation, B17 Entertainment focuses on multi-platform programming with millennial and Gen Z appeal. The B17 Development department is specifically seeking an intern to help support the development of new and existing ideas.

Intern Responsibilities

The intern’s responsibilities will include:
• Helping with research.
Writing copy for sales decks.
Pulling images and footage for sales decks and sizzle reels.
• Ideally, helping edit string outs.
Bringing in new ideas and contributing to group brainstorms.
• Keeping the company apprised of what’s trending across various social media.
• May have the chance to go on set and assist on shoots, when opportunities are available.

Qualifications

Candidates for this internship should possess:
Strong written communication skills.
• The ability to research and drive subsequent insights.
