Job Description: CAD Engineer Intern

This internship offers an exceptional opportunity to work on challenging and meaningful projects, with past interns having designed and tested hardware/software that has gone to space, often leading to full-time employment.

Internships typically last for twelve weeks, are hourly roles, and are designed for individuals currently enrolled in a college or university. Graduates of a four-year university are encouraged to apply for an Associate Engineer position instead.

Role:
As a CAD Engineer Intern, you will be responsible for:
Modeling and drawing components, structures, and manifolds for spacecraft and their supporting structures.
Maintaining and improving the design library and data infrastructure.
Developing, ideating, and documenting considerate practices that enable good and efficient design.

Requirements:
• Currently pursuing a B.S. in Mechanical, Aerospace, or an equivalent technical degree such as Physics, Applied Math, or Industrial Design.
• A strong passion for hardware development, including working in a fast-paced environment with hands-on development.
• Experience with SolidWorks.
• Experience with GD+T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing) and engineering drawings.

Bonus Qualifications:
• Experience with design of complex assemblies and components.
• Experience in the design of spaceflight components and/or vacuum compatible systems.
• Experience with surface modeling.

Compensation:
The base hourly pay for this position is $29.00 USD.
