Job Description

Position Title: Engineering Summer Intern

Department/Group: Construction group

Location: Flint office

Summary: Wade Trim is seeking an Engineering Summer Intern to support their Construction group. This role offers an opportunity for students to gain hands-on experience in the field, contributing to various aspects of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct/Assist with field inspections: Participate in on-site inspections to monitor construction progress and quality.
Record inspection daily reports: Document findings from field inspections in daily reports.
Act as the on-site liaison with client and community: Serve as a point of contact for clients and the local community at the construction site.
Organize and maintain construction documentation: Manage and keep records of various construction-related documents.
Develop an understanding of plans and specifications: Learn to interpret and apply construction plans and specifications.
Operate testing equipment: Use equipment for various construction-related tests.
Assist Project Manager with contract requirements: Support the Project Manager in ensuring contract compliance.
Prepare forms and other paperwork in a timely manner: Complete and submit necessary forms and documents efficiently.
Maintain excellent client relations: Foster positive relationships with clients.
Maintain a safe working environment: Adhere to and promote safety protocols on site.

Education Requirements:
• Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in one of the following fields:
• Civil Engineering
• Environmental Engineering
• Construction Engineering
• Concrete Technology
Junior or senior status is preferred.

Required Skills/Experience:
• Possession of a valid driver’s license.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office suite.
• Must be self-motivated.
• Possess strong organizational skills (very organized).
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills.
