About Company

The Montgomery County Police Department is a government administration company located in Montgomery County, MD. Established in 1922, the Department is responsible for policing a county with a population exceeding one million people.

The Department’s structure includes the Office of the Chief, which oversees the Internal Affairs Division, Professional Accountability Division, and the Media & Public Information Office. Below this, there are five major bureaus: the Community Resources Bureau, the Field Services Bureau, the Investigative Services Bureau, the Management Services Bureau, and the Patrol Services Bureau. The Patrol Services Bureau is the largest and most visible bureau, supervising the majority of the Department’s uniformed officers on patrol, and is divided into six police districts.

The Department is dedicated to providing the highest level of public safety and is committed to working in partnership with the community to address and resolve various issues.

Job Description

This is an unpaid internship role that requires the candidate to work on-site at the Montgomery County Police Department in Montgomery County, MD.

Role Responsibilities:
The intern will primarily assist with a variety of administrative and support tasks, including:
• Filing
• Organizing
• Data entry
• Record keeping
• Assisting in general administrative duties

Additionally, interns may be asked to support community outreach efforts aimed at building and strengthening relationships between the police department and the community it serves.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this internship, candidates must possess the following qualifications:
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
• High attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Experience or a demonstrated interest in the field of law enforcement or criminal justice is considered a plus.
• Must be currently enrolled in an accredited college or university.
