About the Job

This description details the opportunity for a Summer Intern within BILL’s 11-week, paid internship program. The program is designed to provide a comprehensive immersion into BILL’s company culture and values.

Key aspects of the internship include:

• Project Ownership: Interns will own comprehensive projects that have a real and tangible impact on small-to-medium sized businesses (SMBs), BILL’s products, and employees.
• Mentorship & Development: The program offers numerous mentorship and development opportunities to foster a shared passion for SMBs and help interns grow their skills.
• Leadership Engagement: Interns will have the chance to engage with leaders through an executive speaker series.
• Cultural Immersion: Participants will be immersed in Employee Resource Group (ERG) initiatives and events, gaining insight into what matters most at BILL. The company emphasizes its “Fun” value through activities like Intern Nights Out, group events, and various opportunities to connect with fellow interns.
• Location: This specific internship position can be based in San Jose, CA, or Draper, UT.

We’d Love To Chat If You Have:

• Strong Foundation of Coding Skills: While the specific framework depends on the team, familiarity with the following technologies is beneficial, though the ability to interview well in any mainstream language is key:
• Front-end: Javascript, Typescript, React, Angular.
• Back-end: Java (with some teams also working with Elixir).
• Full Stack: A combination of the above.
• Cloud: Completely cloud-based and hosted on AWS.
• Databases: Most databases are MySQL.
• Growth Mindset: An eagerness to learn, overcome unique coding challenges, and an interest in picking up new coding skills or technologies.
• Strong Coding Problem-Solving Skills.
• A Passion for Engineering Excellence.
• A Customer-Centric Mindset.

Requirements:

• Must be currently enrolled at an accredited university in the US.
• Must be graduating with a Bachelor’s in Computer Science or a related field between December 2026 and July 2027.

Compensation & Benefits:

The estimated hourly pay for this intern role is $53 USD, regardless of location (San Jose, CA, or Draper, UT).
