Job Description (Detailed)

This role is for Float Staffing within the Ascension Sacred Heart Emerald Coast hospital in Destin, Florida. The schedule is PRN Rotating shifts.

Responsibilities:
Under the direct supervision of a nurse, the individual will provide nursing care following the healthcare organization’s established policies, procedures, and protocols. Key responsibilities include:
• Completing assigned nursing orders as directed by a preceptor, which involves assisting patients with activities of daily living and taking vital signs.
• Observing patient status and responses, and accurately documenting and reporting these observations to the preceptor or other relevant staff.
• Assisting the preceptor in developing patient care plans by reporting test results and patient observations.
• Performing other assigned tasks, which may include environmental services duties and preparing/transporting patients for diagnostic services.

Requirements:

Licensure / Certification / Registration:
BLS Provider certification is required within 1 month (30 days) of the hire date or job transfer date. Both American Heart Association and American Red Cross certifications are accepted.
Nurse Aide certification is preferred.
Education:
• A High school diploma/GED is required.
• Candidates must be accepted or enrolled into a Nursing program upon the date of hire/transfer and be prepared to begin classes within 90 days of the hire/transfer date.
