About the Job: 2026 Commercial Banking Summer Internship – Early Careers
This is a structured 10-week summer internship program (June-August 2026, exact dates TBD) designed for undergraduate students. The program aims to provide participants with a foundational understanding of Commercial Banking and potential career paths within the field through hands-on experience. Interns will work with experienced teams within one of Wells Fargo’s Commercial Banking businesses, gaining exposure to the company’s operations, business strategies, and corporate culture.
Program Overview and Development Focus:
The internship is highly focused on intern development, preparing participants for their next career steps. It provides insight into Wells Fargo’s corporate and credit culture, along with opportunities for professional development, skill acquisition, community involvement, networking, and analytical training specific to the line of business. Key components of the program include:
• Induction Week: A week-long onboarding and training session that includes networking opportunities with peers and leaders from across Wells Fargo.
• On-the-job Experience: Interns will engage in meaningful and in-depth experiences as part of high-performing teams, actively participating in day-to-day activities to build analytical skills and a basic understanding of key processes.
• Professional Support: Interns will be partnered with high-performing employees who serve as resources, coaches, and mentors, providing guidance and feedback throughout the summer.
• Virtual Speaker Series: Top Wells Fargo leaders offer insights on maximizing the summer experience and discuss current trends in the financial services industry.
• Organized Networking Activities: Opportunities are provided for community involvement and networking with peers and employees across various departments at Wells Fargo.
In This Role, Interns Will:
• Actively participate in formal internship program activities, workshops, and various initiatives.
• Complete numerous assignments to become familiar with company policies and procedures, handling low-to-medium complex tasks and deliverables.
• Conduct research and financial analysis to assess client needs, aiming to identify optimal Wells Fargo products and services.
• Collaborate with relationship managers, product specialists, and credit underwriters to support real-time business efforts that drive client outcomes.
• Receive direction from a manager while exercising independent judgment, concurrently developing knowledge of compliance and risk management requirements specific to their supported area.
• Prioritize tasks, demonstrate strong attention to detail, meet deadlines, achieve goals, and effectively work under pressure in a dynamic and complex environment.

Interns will be notified of their specific Commercial Banking business placement prior to the program’s start.

Required Qualifications (US):
• 6+ months of work experience, or equivalent demonstrated through a combination of work experience, training, military experience, or education.
• Must be presently authorized to work for any employer in the United States and will not require work visa sponsorship from Wells Fargo now or in the future.
Desired Qualifications:
• Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree with an expected graduation date between December 2026 or May/June 2027. All majors are welcome.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy.
• Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
• Involvement in extracurricular enrichment activities such as volunteerism, student organization involvement, study abroad program(s), leadership position(s), or non-profit involvement.
• Proven ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a collaborative, change-driven atmosphere.
• Energetic self-starter who proactively takes initiative, acts with urgency, remains curious, and has a genuine interest in learning and growth.
• Demonstrated knowledge, interest, and/or experience in finance, accounting, and sales.
