Job Description (Detailed)

This is an internship position for a Supply Chain Intern at Danfoss Power Solutions Segment, with Requisition ID: 44849. The role is full-time, on-site, and located in Cleveland, Oh, OH, US.

Overall Purpose:
The primary purpose of this internship is to support the supply chain team in the daily tasks involved in completing a customer order request from start to finish. The intern will also assist with various projects related to key supply chain functions, including customer service, demand planning, purchasing, manufacturing, inventory management, warehousing, and transportation.

Work Arrangement and Compensation:
• Candidates must be able to commit to part-time hours (at least three days per week) while school is in session.
• The role requires a commitment to full-time hours during the summer months.
• The pay rate is dependent on experience and grade level, ranging from $20.00 to $24.00 per hour.

Key Job Responsibilities:
Responsibilities for this position are comprehensive and include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Releasing production orders for kits in response to customer requirements.
• Releasing and processing delivery notes in SAP P01 to initiate the pick and pack process for orders.
• Processing inventory-related transactions and reconciling any discrepancies found.
• Completing Post Goods Issue transactions to disburse inventory and trigger the invoicing process.
• Utilizing Descarte TMS software to determine the mode of transportation, preferred carrier, and freight rates for customer orders, as well as to execute documentation for Less-than-Truckload (LTL) or small parcels.
• Preparing comprehensive shipping documentation, including creating waybills, commercial invoices, and Shipping Letters of Intent for export shipments to ensure quick and accurate processing through Customs.
• Using Global Trade Management software to file customs export documentation in accordance with government regulations.
• Providing all necessary export documentation and required paperwork to transportation carriers, customers, and the internal customer service team.
• Contacting transportation dispatchers to schedule pick-up of both parcel and freight shipments.
• Assisting the Customer Service team with order changes for items that are already packed or on a delivery note.
• Creating carrier loading schedules for tow motor operators.
• Providing vacation coverage for team members as needed.

Background & Skills:

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
• Candidates must be pursuing an undergraduate degree in Supply Chain Management.
• Due to the nature of the information and technology involved, which is subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and/or Export Administration Regulations (EAR), all applicants must be U.S. persons. ITAR/EAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e., ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with personal computers, including internet usage, email, MS Office applications, and scanning.
• A foundational understanding of Supply Chain Topics.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment.
• Self-motivated with a strong willingness to learn.
• Candidates should ideally be local to the Cleveland/Brooklyn, Ohio area, given the required work schedule.
