Job Title: Intern Project – Youth Sports Intern
Job Purpose:
The Youth Sports Intern will provide comprehensive support to the Regional Sports Director and/or Sports Coordinator in the execution of all youth sports leagues, activities, and camps. The primary goal is to ensure a safe, fun, and competitive environment for kids to learn and grow through sports.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
• Program Coordination:
• Assist with the creation of rosters and schedules for youth sports programs.
• Coordinate with Field or Gym Monitors to address the needs for weekend programs.
• Manage and follow up with coaches regarding any roster, schedule, or site changes.
• Oversee all events related to youth sports leagues, activities, and camps.
• Marketing and Business Development:
• Assist in identifying potential programs or marketing ideas to enhance offerings.
• Work on building relationships with potential vendors or sponsors to support programs.
• Engage in marketing and promoting youth sports activities.
• Safety and Standards Compliance:
• Ensure all First Coast YMCA standards and best practices are implemented and followed.
• Apply YMCA policies and procedures, including those related to best practices, emergency procedures, medical and disciplinary situations, and child abuse prevention.
• Ensure the health and safety of all members/guests participating in programs.
• Inspect physical spaces (facilities) to ensure their safety, orderliness, sanitation, and cleanliness.
• Stakeholder Interaction:
• Interact and plan effectively with sites, vendors, referees, coaches, and parents.

• Good organizational and execution skills with a strong focus on detail.

• Technical Proficiency:
• Good knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
