Job Description

Opportunity Type: Unpaid Remote Internship or Volunteer Opportunity

Purpose: Join a team of mission-driven young people from across the United States to amplify youth civic engagement and participate in activism. The focus is on a range of progressive and social justice issues, including climate change, racial justice, reproductive rights, ending gun violence, and combating voter suppression in the United States. This opportunity is designed for individuals seeking to impact change, refine activist efforts, strengthen democracy, and connect with like-minded peers.

Key Responsibilities and Curriculum:
Grassroots Activism and Advocacy: Work in teams to participate in grassroots activism and advocacy on civic and social justice issues of personal interest.
Research and Education: Conduct research to become better educated and aware about various civic and social justice topics.
Voter Registration Drives:
• Join and assist with existing voter registration drives at their schools.
• If no drive exists, receive support to initiate and perform their own registration efforts, whether peer-to-peer or by running a drive (with school permission).
Collaborative Tasks: Collaborate on a variety of tasks, communicate regularly, and meet virtually on a weekly basis.
Civic Actions: Participate in civic actions and work on voter turnout projects.
Outreach and Engagement: Perform targeted outreach and engage in advocacy and activism.
Volunteer Opportunities: Find and participate in volunteer opportunities together.
Speaker Series: Attend the TurnUp Speaker Series.
Civic and Activism Research/Writing: Engage in civic and activism-related research and writing.
Advocacy: Work together to advocate for issues important to young people.
Voter Turnout: Fight voter suppression and boost youth voter turnout in the United States.
