About the Company:

The Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) is the second largest transit system in the United States. Their college internship program offers both summer and year-long opportunities, providing students with valuable work experience, professional development, and mentorship. Interns gain exposure to various workplace disciplines and are guided by subject matter experts to develop necessary skills for today’s careers. Internships are available across many departments within the CTA.

Description:

This is a year-long (2025-2026) part-time HR Communication Internship (2500001S) within the Human Resources department’s Employee Engagement, Marketing, and Outreach unit. The internship is project-based, and the position requires on-site work at CTA Headquarters (567 W. Lake Street, Chicago, Illinois 60661) at least twice a week. The internship is part-time (15 hours/week) during the school year and full-time (40 hours/week) during the summer.

Responsibilities:

Copywriting and content creation for marketing campaigns.
Distribution of communication assets using various platforms.
Auditing and quality control of written materials.

Currently pursuings:

Preferred Majors: Creative Writing, English, Journalism, Communication
Preferred Education Level: College graduate student
Required Enrollment Status: Full-time enrollment in an accredited college or university degree program.
Physical Requirements: Ability to comply with office policies for on-site work (twice per week) and perform light physical activity (walking, stairs).
Skills and Abilities: Strong Microsoft Office and computer skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills; good analytical and critical thinking skills; proficient organizational skills with attention to detail; strong project management skills; good creative writing skills.
