The Tone:
This is a full-time, field-based role at Sea & Shoreline, supporting vital marine construction, dredging, and restoration efforts. Sea & Shoreline focuses on enhancing and rebuilding aquatic environments through skilled field operations. As a Working Diver, you are essential to executing critical underwater tasks in challenging conditions, ensuring projects are completed safely and effectively. Your contributions directly enable the success of essential environmental restoration and infrastructure work.

• Mission: Execute critical underwater tasks to support dredging, restoration, and marine construction, ensuring projects proceed safely and effectively.
• Tech Stack: Mobile tools for logging dive activity and tracking certifications.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Underwater Operations: Perform underwater work in low-visibility, high-sediment environments to support dredging, restoration, and marine construction projects, including equipment installation and inspection tasks.
• Field Support: Provide underwater execution and troubleshooting support to dredging crews, assisting topside teams with equipment setup, breakdown, and movement to keep projects on track.
• Safety Compliance: Rigorously follow all dive safety standards, including pre-dive checks, buddy protocols, emergency procedures, and actively flag risks underwater and topside.
• Equipment Management: Assist with the care, inspection, and basic maintenance of dive gear, air systems, dredging equipment, hoses, boats, and support equipment, ensuring readiness and proper storage.
• Team Collaboration: Work closely and communicate clearly with all crews, especially in high-risk situations, bringing a team-first mindset to physically demanding work to support overall project success.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Minimum qualification: A commercial, scientific, or equivalent diving certification. This role requires an individual comfortable with physical, hands-on working diving in challenging, non-ideal conditions, not recreational diving.
• Experience: Demonstrated capability to operate effectively in low-visibility, high-sediment environments with varying currents, assisting with dredging operations, equipment installation, and underwater inspections.
• Skills: Unwavering commitment to dive safety protocols, the ability to remain calm and focused under pressure in challenging underwater environments, robust physical capability for demanding work and long field days, and a strong team-oriented approach.
• Bonus: Comfort with logging dive activity, tracking certifications, and utilizing mobile tools; leading with humility, grit, and reliability without requiring constant recognition for contributions.
