The Workforce Planning Team
The Workforce Planning team at T-Mobile plays a critical role in aligning workforce strategy with overall business objectives. Their primary goal is to ensure the organization has the right people, in the right roles, at the right time. They achieve this by:
- Leveraging analytics and workforce insights.
- Translating complex enterprise strategies into actionable plans that drive operational efficiency and business performance.
- Partnering closely with HR COEs, Finance, and business leaders to inform strategic decisions.
- Utilizing data-driven storytelling and predictive modeling.
The team’s work directly influences workforce investments, organizational design, and long-term growth.
What You’ll Do as a Workforce Planning Intern
Throughout the summer, the intern will actively support key workforce planning initiatives. This will involve a range of activities aimed at translating complex datasets into clear, compelling insights that guide workforce strategy decisions. You will contribute to real business challenges such as forecasting workforce needs and identifying talent gaps, while partnering with cross-functional teams.
By the end of the internship, you will have delivered actionable insights that enhance planning processes and influence strategic workforce decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools to visualize workforce trends and insights.
- Support workforce planning through data analysis, scenario modeling, and forecasting.
- Partner with HR, Finance, and business stakeholders to gather inputs and translate data into strategic recommendations.
- Conduct external labor market research to support benchmarking and workforce strategy.
- Assist in preparing presentations and insights for business reviews and leadership discussions.
What It Takes (Qualifications)
Required Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (Master’s preferred) in Business, Data Analytics, Statistics, Economics, Finance, or a related field.
- Experience with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
- Foundational knowledge of SQL, Excel, or other data analysis tools.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and storytelling skills with the ability to translate data into insights.
- Interest in workforce strategy, consulting, or business operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with Python, R, or data engineering concepts is a plus.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 18 years of age.
- Legally authorized to work in the United States.
- Must be actively enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Graduate degree program.
- Employees of T-Mobile or Metro by T-Mobile are ineligible for Internships.
Additional Information
- Visa Sponsorship: Employer does not sponsor work visas for this position. This applies to individuals who are students in F-1 status who desire sponsorship after they complete their education.
- Relocation Assistance: May be provided to program participants who reside more than 50 miles from the internship location.
- Intern Wages: Range from $26/hour to $47/hour. The successful candidate’s actual pay will be based on education/STEM vs non-STEM designation.
