Wealth Management Intern

CAPTRUST is seeking a full-time summer Wealth Management Intern in our Phoenix, AZ office. This internship provides invaluable exposure to the inner workings of a wealth management firm with a robust tax practice. Hands-on learning starts day one in this fast-paced environment, with training provided on various aspects of wealth planning and wealth management, as well as specific software used throughout the firm.

The role will be supervised by an experienced Senior Client Associate, ensuring guided learning and professional development. CAPTRUST interns are expected to maintain professional and ethical standards, be well-organized, service-oriented, and capable of performing under tight deadlines. Obtaining course credit may be possible, depending on the student’s program approval.

We require a minimum of 16 hours per week to fulfill the needs of the internship, with flexible hours based on your school schedule. Completion of an internship may lead to, but does not guarantee, future full-time employment. We hire YEAR-ROUND, so apply today!

Primary Responsibilities

  • Assist on special projects (internal projects and client-specific tasks).
  • Help the team prepare for client meetings.
  • Attend client meetings in a support role.
  • Participate in cash flow planning, estate planning, cash management, balance sheet planning, and operational business planning.
  • Accept and apply coaching and feedback effectively.
  • Support the client services and administrative teams as needed or requested.
  • Based on business need, this role is to be performed on-site; this is not a remote or hybrid WFH role.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Actively pursuing an Undergraduate/Graduate degree; rising Junior or First-Semester Senior.
  • All School of Business Majors are encouraged to apply, with Accounting, Finance, Economics, Financial Planning, or Taxation preferred.
  • Significant interest in the workings of individual taxation and wealth management.

Desired Qualifications/Skills:

  • Strong critical thinker who is a self-starter.
  • High-level proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask with a proven ability to plan and achieve results.
  • Demonstrate the highest personal ethics and integrity.
  • Ability to maintain absolute confidentiality of information.
  • Team player, collaborative, and able to work with and through others.

Compensation & Location

Compensation range is $17.00 – $21.00 per hour.
