Job Description: Wealth Management Intern
CAPTRUST is seeking a Wealth Management Intern for its Pittsburgh, PA office. This is a hands-on, fast-paced internship designed to provide extensive exposure to the inner workings of a wealth management firm with a strong tax practice. The role is on-site and is not remote or hybrid.
Key Aspects of the Internship:
• Learning & Development: Interns receive training on various aspects of wealth planning and wealth management, as well as specific software used within the firm. Hands-on learning begins on day one.
• Supervision: The intern will be supervised by an experienced Senior Client Associate.
• Work Schedule: A minimum of 16 hours per week is required, with hours being flexible to accommodate the student’s academic schedule. CAPTRUST hires year-round.
• Compensation: The hourly compensation range for this position is $17.00 – $24.00.
• Future Opportunities: Completion of the internship may lead to future full-time employment, though it is not guaranteed.
• Course Credit: Obtaining course credit may be possible, depending on the student’s program approval.
Primary Responsibilities:
The intern’s responsibilities encompass various aspects of a wealth management firm, including:
• Assisting with tax planning and compliance.
• Helping with client service.
• Meeting preparation for client interactions.
• Participating in software conversion projects.
• Performing administrative tasks.
• Assisting on special projects (internal and client-specific).
• Attending client meetings in a support role.
• Participating in key financial planning areas such as cash flow planning, estate planning, cash management, balance sheet planning, and operational business planning.
• Accepting and applying coaching and feedback.
• Supporting the client services and administrative teams as needed.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
• Actively pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree from an accredited institution.
• Any school of business majors are considered, with Finance, Accounting, and Economics preferred.
• Demonstrated significant interest in financial planning and wealth management.
• Intent to pursue the CFP designation upon graduation.
Desired Qualifications/Skills:
• Strong self-starter.
• High-level proficiency in Microsoft Office suite programs.
• Excellent communication and client service skills.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask with a proven ability to plan and achieve results.
