This opportunity is for a part-time Water/Wastewater Engineering Intern – Fall 2025 at WSP’s Tempe, AZ office, specifically within the Earth & Environment Team.

Your Impact (Key Responsibilities):
As an intern, you will be involved in projects that meet client objectives and solve challenges, specifically:
• Working alongside clients in industrial, mining, and municipal industries to engineer and develop water treatment solutions.
• Assisting in and further developing skills in project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Consulting with and assisting water treatment plants across Arizona.
• Utilizing opportunities to design as well as support existing water treatment plants.

Required Qualifications:
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil or Mechanical Engineering or related Undergraduate program.
• Anticipated graduation date of August 2026 or later.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Demonstrated interest in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or a related field, and a strong desire to advance skills pertinent to WSP’s work and projects.
Competent interpersonal and communication skills, capable of interacting effectively and professionally with both engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Strong technical writing, analytical, and communication skills.
Detail-oriented with an emphasis on producing quality work products.
• Must have the ability to work in the United States immediately and be authorized to do so.
• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.
• Must successfully complete and pass WSP’s Motor Vehicle screening.

Preferred Qualifications:
Candidates with these additional qualifications will be at an advantage:
• Possessing a Master’s degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering with a specific focus on water or wastewater treatment.
• Anticipated graduation date for the Master’s degree also being August 2026 or later.
• Experience with specialized software such as AutoCAD/Civil3D, Bluebeam, Microsoft Visio, or Pipe-FLO.
• Prior internship experience, leadership experience, or relevant coursework.
