What You’ll Actually Do
• Inspect Deliveries: Meticulously examine the condition of new and returned products as they arrive from various carriers, checking for damages, overages, shorts, and assessing trailer conditions, evidence of pest infestation, or product tampering.
• Document Discrepancies: Accurately document all critical inbound information, including any overages, shorts, damages, precise expiration dates, and product temperatures, ensuring product is in saleable condition.
• Manage Inbound Flow: Direct outside carriers and contract unloaders effectively on how to properly sort and segregate product, while also ensuring product integrity is maintained according to McLane Company standards.
• Process Orders: Utilize the computer system to print necessary pallet labels, accurately enter purchase orders, and strategically assign dock doors to streamline the receiving process.
• Operate Equipment & Support: Become fully trained and certified to operate any required equipment within 30 days of hire, provide coverage for the Receiving Clerk as needed, and consistently meet assigned production standards.

The Must-Haves
• Background: High School Diploma or GED preferred, coupled with the ability to read, write, and understand English at a level sufficient to perform job-related tasks effectively and safely.
• Experience: At least 18 years of age.
• Skills: Organized, problem solver, teamwork oriented, safety conscious, detailed.
• Bonus: Previous receiving experience.
