Job Title: Volkert Internship Program (VIP)
Description:
The Volkert Internship Program (VIP) is designed for undergraduate students majoring in:
• Civil Engineering
• Structural Engineering
• Construction Management
• Computer Aided Design (CAD)
• Civil Engineering Technology
The program is primarily offered during the summer, but may also be available during the fall or spring semesters, depending on office needs and resources. This internship offers valuable experience in the field.
Key Responsibilities:
• Explore the industry and your major
• Learn systems, processes, and best practices
• Receive project assignments related to your major
• Learn business and office etiquette
• Understand field safety procedures
• Present your project or experience to leadership
Requirements:
• Enrolled as a full-time undergraduate student
• Sophomore standing is recommended (High school graduate with Freshman standing may be considered if involved in a STEM or leadership program)
• Cumulative GPA of 2.50 or higher
• Enrolled in one of the degree programs listed above
• Preference for 40 hours per week during the summer (minimum of 30 hours)
• Availability may vary during spring or fall semesters
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening
• Valid driver’s license
