About the Job: Video Editor
We are seeking a sharp, creative, and passionate Video Editor to join our dynamic marketing team on a part-time freelance basis. This role is perfect for an individual who thinks in stories and possesses a keen eye for compelling visuals and engaging narratives. You’ll be instrumental in shaping the visual identity of HOVERAir across various platforms, contributing to the growth and recognition of our groundbreaking product.
Location:
- Remote/hybrid, preferably on PST hours (US or Canada)
Department:
- Marketing
Hours:
- Starting at 25 hrs/weekly
About the Role:
This isn’t merely a cut-and-export role; we’re looking for a visionary editor who can watch raw footage and immediately envision the perfect edit, while also bringing original content ideas to the table. You will work across a diverse range of content, including short-form social media, long-form YouTube videos, marketing campaigns, and athlete content. A key aspect of this role involves leveraging AI tools to maintain rapid workflow and high-quality output.
If you are an editor with strong opinions about pacing, a deep understanding of what performs on each platform, and a genuine enthusiasm for action sports and adventure content, this is an exciting opportunity for you.
What You’ll Do:
- Edit high-quality video content across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and paid media – encompassing short-form, long-form, and everything in between.
- Bring original content ideas to the team, including series concepts, unique YouTube formats, trending social formats, and compelling athlete storytelling angles.
- Leverage AI editing tools (such as CapCut, Descript, Runway, Adobe AI features, etc.) to significantly accelerate workflow and turnaround times without compromising quality.
- Develop platform-native edits that feel organic and authentic to each platform’s feed, rather than just repurposed or resized content.
- Support shoots, events, and athlete activations on-site when needed, actively capturing content and ensuring best-in-class product usage in real-world environments.
- Help build templates and guidelines that facilitate scalable content quality across various markets and with our partners.
- Manage footage organization, selects, and content libraries to ensure efficient access and prevent loss of valuable assets.
What We’re Looking For:
- 2–4 years of video editing experience, ideally gained in a brand, agency, or creator context. We are also open to applications from fresh graduates or talented self-learners!
- Fluency in professional editing software such as Premiere Pro, Final Cut, or DaVinci Resolve, with a proven track record of actively using AI tools to enhance your editing process.
- A strong creative point of view – you are not just an executor of briefs; you actively contribute to improving them and bringing fresh perspectives.
- Proven understanding of what performs on social media, including effective pacing, captivating hooks, platform-specific behaviors, and trending formats.
- Experience with action sports, outdoor, or adventure content is a strong plus, demonstrating an understanding of this niche.
- Comfortable in the field – capable of shooting, problem-solving on the spot, and consistently getting the desired shot in dynamic environments.
- Proactive communicator who can work independently and effectively across different time zones.
- Fluent in English is required.
