Job Description

MERL is seeking a highly motivated Ph.D. student for an internship focused on Video Anomaly Detection. This is an exceptional opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in machine learning and computer vision within a collaborative research environment.

About the Role

As a Video Anomaly Detection Intern at MERL, you will be instrumental in developing novel ideas to advance the state-of-the-art in detecting anomalous activity in videos. This role involves active collaboration with MERL researchers, algorithm development and testing, and preparing manuscripts for scientific publications.

Key Responsibilities

  • Help to develop new ideas for improving state-of-the-art video anomaly detection.
  • Collaborate closely with MERL researchers on project execution.
  • Design, implement, and test algorithms for video anomaly detection.
  • Prepare and contribute to manuscripts for scientific publications in top-tier venues.

Internship Details

  • Duration: 3 months
  • Start Date: Flexible

Required Qualifications

  • Education: Currently enrolled as a graduate student in a Ph.D. program.
  • Technical Background:
    • Strong background in machine learning and computer vision.
    • Proficiency in Python programming.
    • Experience with PyTorch is necessary.
  • Specific Experience:
    • Some experience with video anomaly detection in particular.
    • Prior publication (at least one paper) in a top-tier computer vision or machine learning conference/journal, such as CVPR, ECCV, ICCV, WACV, ICML, ICLR, NeurIPS, or AAAI.

Compensation & Benefits

  • Pay Range: $6,000 – $8,000 per month.
