Vice President, Investment Banking – Pharma Services/Med Tech | Moelis & Company

The Tone:
This Vice President position at Moelis & Company, located in New York, is for individuals with a strong drive for business and culture. Moelis & Company is an investment bank dedicated to providing strategic financial advisory services. This role is crucial for delivering top-tier investment, risk advisory, merger & acquisition, and capital markets services to clients specifically within the vital Pharma Services & Med Tech sectors. The individual will directly support and collaborate with Executive Directors and Managing Directors across all facets of the business, playing a pivotal role in transaction evaluation and client engagement.

• Mission: Oversees quantitative analyses and develops investment scenarios to provide top-notch investment, risk advisory, merger & acquisition, and capital markets services within the Pharma Services & Med Tech sectors.

What You’ll Actually Do:
• Oversees Analysis: Oversees a wide variety of quantitative analyses, including leverage buyout models, discounted cash flow, multiple valuation analysis, merger and acquisition accretion/dilution analysis and credit analysis for client and investor presentations.
• Develops Materials: Develops investment scenarios and corresponding presentation/prospectus material, coordinated marketing for public private securities offerings, valuation analysis, business plans, and financial projections.
• Leverages Firm Capabilities: Leverages Firm’s capital markets, proprietary research and analytical capabilities to provide top-notch investment, risk advisory, merger & acquisition and capital markets services.
• Monitors Market: Monitors relevant transactions, capital market trends, company financial statements, industry, regulatory, and economic information, and other important assessments in the financial sector.
• Collaborates on Business: Works directly with Executive Directors and Managing Directors in all facets of the business, including marketing, transaction evaluation and transaction processing.

The Must-Haves:
• Background: An MBA from a top-tier business school or equivalent investment banking experience. Career level: Executive.
• Experience: Five or more years of relevant work experience. Experience supervising Analyst and Associate level staff in research & analysis and ensuing transactions within the investment banking sector.
• Skills:
• Advanced Financial Analysis: Ability to apply fundamentals of economic and financial analysis methods at a high level for business decisions, finance, accounting, investment, and financial forecasting.
• Business Statistics & Marketing: Strong understanding and application of business statistics and marketing principles.
• Team Leadership: Experience supervising Analyst and Associate level staff in research & analysis and ensuing transactions within the investment banking sector.
• Professional Acumen: Demonstrated maturity, presence, attention to detail, initiative, and problem solving skills crucial for client and firm interactions.
• Adaptability: Proven ability to effectively adapt to and address changing client and firm needs.
