Vice President, Investor Relations | New York Life Insurance Company
The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Apogem Capital, operating within the New York Life Investment Management platform, with a hybrid schedule requiring 4 days per week in a primary office location. Apogem is a leading private markets solutions provider focused on the middle market, delivering disciplined underwriting and strategic capital deployment for long-term value creation. This Vice President role is crucial for supporting the firm’s Private Credit activities by managing fundraising processes, investor relations, and product initiatives to serve their diverse existing and prospective client base.

• Mission: This person supports Apogem Capital’s Private Credit fundraising, investor relations, and product initiatives to serve existing and prospective clients.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Fundraising Management: Manage multiple fundraising processes, overseeing pipeline activity, investor diligence, key follow-ups, and new client onboarding, while identifying bottlenecks and keeping deliverables on track.
• Fundraising Content: Develop and refine presentations, DDQs, RFPs, case studies, data room materials, investor responses, and other fundraising content, translating investment concepts and market dynamics into clear messaging.
• Investor Relations: Participate in client and consultant meetings, diligence sessions, and other investor interactions, supporting senior relationship owners and responding to investor requests, maintaining relevant activity within the CRM.
• Workstream Coordination: Review key team deliverables for accuracy, consistency, and clarity, providing constructive feedback and guidance to help prioritize and coordinate workstreams for timely, high-quality execution.
• Market Analysis: Analyze investment, portfolio, performance, and fundraising data, monitor competitor activity, and use market and investor insights to support product strategy, positioning, and new product initiatives.
The Must-Haves
• Background: Senior level, with progressive experience in investor relations, fundraising/capital formation, product management, or client service within alternative asset management, investment banking, a placement agent, or another relevant financial institution.
• Experience: Six to nine years of experience supporting fundraising and institutional investor diligence, demonstrating a strong understanding of fundamental investment concepts and the ability to translate complex investment topics into clear messaging.
• Skills: Strong analytical, project management, and organizational skills, with sound judgment to manage multiple priorities and deadlines; professional presence and confidence interacting with clients, consultants, and senior stakeholders; advanced proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
• Bonus: FINRA SIE, Series 7, and Series 63 qualifications preferred at hire (or within six months); direct experience within private credit (e.g., manager, placement agent), including familiarity with direct lending strategies; experience reviewing financial analyses, performance calculations, and supporting models used in investor-facing materials.
