Job Description:

An externship at Ridgetop Animal Hospital offers veterinary students a unique opportunity to understand daily practice operations and gain hands-on clinical experience. Key aspects of the externship include:

Clinical Skills Development:
• Gathering patient histories.
• Performing physical examinations.
• Creating treatment plans.
• Performing diagnostics.
• Participating in dentistry services.
• Observing, assisting with, or performing surgical procedures.
• Managing medical patients.

Communication Skills:
• Practicing communication with the medical team.
• Interacting with support staff.

Duration: Externship experiences typically range from two to eight weeks, depending on student and hospital availability.

Eligibility: All Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) students, regardless of their year of study, are encouraged to apply.
