Job Description: Externship Opportunity

Great Lakes Veterinary Clinic is offering an Exciting Externship Opportunity (Employment Type: Internship) designed for innovative veterinary students. This program aims to:
• Teach students how to practice top-notch medicine.
• Provide valuable hands-on clinical experience.
• Enable students to enrich the lives of patients and clients.

The externship program is customizable, ranging from 2 to 4 weeks, depending on the student’s schedule. It is led by Dr. Randy Van Maanen, providing students with direct mentorship from an experienced professional.

Key learning and experience areas for externs include:
• Gaining real-life, “in the trenches” experience.
• Learning to gather patient information and history.
• Performing physical exams.
• Assisting in the creation of treatment plans.
• Participating in diagnostics.
• Observing and assisting with surgical & dentistry services.
