Job description:
This is an externship opportunity designed for veterinary students at Paris Hill Cat Hospital, an NVA hospital. The externship aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the day-to-day operations of a veterinary practice, coupled with valuable hands-on clinical experience.
Key responsibilities and learning opportunities include:
• Patient Interaction: Gathering patient histories and performing physical examinations.
• Treatment Planning: Participating in the creation of treatment plans.
• Diagnostics: Gaining experience in various diagnostic procedures.
• Dentistry: Exposure to and participation in dentistry services.
• Surgery: Observing, assisting, or potentially performing surgical procedures (dependent on student skill level and hospital protocols).
• Medical Management: Participating in the medical management of patients.
• Communication Skills: Developing and refining communication skills with the medical team, support staff, and clients.
Externship Details:
• Duration: Externships typically range from two to eight weeks, based on student and hospital availability.
• Eligibility: All veterinary students, regardless of their year of study, are encouraged to apply.
• Supervision: Students will work closely with supervising Associate Veterinarians at Paris Hill Cat Hospital.
