• Wellness Plans: Including all routine services (vaccinations, diagnostic testing, and preventative care) for all stages of your pet’s life.
• Surgery: Soft tissue and orthopedic surgery, including affordable spay and neuter programs.
• Pet Dentistry: Full-service pet dentistry from routine cleanings to oral surgery.
• In-house Diagnostics & Pharmacy: In-house diagnostic testing, a full-service pharmacy, and veterinary therapeutic diets to treat a wide variety of medical conditions.
• Ancillary Services: Doctor-recommended ancillary services for behavior counseling, training, and other concerns.

Heartland Veterinary Partners’ Externship Program is designed to provide 1st-4th year veterinary students with invaluable hands-on experience and dedicated mentorship. Our goal is to ensure you are ‘practice ready’ by your very first day in practice.

Program Details

• Externships are typically 2 weeks long.
• Heartland will cover the cost of lodging if needed.
• The length of externship is flexible to accommodate your schedule.
• We are able to support your preceptorship documentation as well.

Requirements/Qualifications

Eligibility

• Must be currently enrolled in an AVMA Accredited Veterinary School.
• Must be able to provide student PLIT (Professional Liability Insurance Trust).
