Valence Project Android Internship – USA
We are seeking a talented and motivated intern to join our team in the USA and contribute to the Valence project. This is an exciting opportunity to work on an Android application designed to guide collection vehicles, ensuring efficient data refreshing for critical routes.
The Role
As an intern on the Valence project, you will be instrumental in developing an Android application that facilitates the collection of spatial data. This application will communicate directly with various hardware sensors on vehicles, including Cameras, LiDAR, GPS, and storage systems. It will stream vital progress information to our Nucleus service and leverage HERE’s Navigate SDK for advanced routing and navigation capabilities.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Implementing new feature requests and addressing bug fixes for the Valence Android application.
- Adding and updating unit tests for new logic to ensure code quality and reliability.
- Ensuring that local and Continuous Integration (CI) builds pass successfully.
- Thoroughly documenting all code changes and project contributions.
Who We’re Looking For
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual with a strong foundation in Android development and a passion for creating impactful applications.
Skills Needed:
- Proficiency in Java and/or Kotlin programming languages.
- Demonstrated experience in Android development, covering both front-end UI design and back-end logic implementation.
- Familiarity with testing methodologies, CI pipelines, and Git workflows.
Education & Compensation
This is a full-time, paid internship, requiring 20 to 40 hours per week, with a fixed hourly rate based on your current level of education:
- Undergraduate Students: $25/hr
- Graduate Students: $30/hr
- PhD Students: $35/hr
