Utilities Paralegal | Cook & Associates

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Cook & Associates, located in Vinings. Cook & Associates is a legal services provider with over 20 years of experience serving utilities, telephone and electric cooperatives, state and local governments, and the construction industry. The firm focuses on the unique regulatory and infrastructure needs of clients operating in utility and public service sectors. Team members collaborate closely with clients to support long-term projects and ongoing operational requirements, offering opportunities to develop specialized expertise in utilities law.

• Mission: Provide efficient and responsive legal service to utility and cooperative clients by managing a significant volume of projects and deadlines.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Scheduling & Coordination: Coordinate communications and schedule meetings, conference calls, and appointments with clients, opposing counsel, consultants, and other parties.
• Project Management: Manage legal project deadlines, calendars, task lists, and matter-tracking systems to ensure timely completion.
• Legal Support: Assist attorneys with various legal matters including transactional, regulatory, governance, and litigation, specifically focusing on the utilities practice.
• Document Preparation: Draft, review, and proofread correspondence, corporate documents, resolutions, minutes, pleadings, and other legal documents for accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
• Records Management: Organize and maintain client files and document management systems, including the preparation of meeting materials and board packets.
