About the University Program Development Internship:
This paid, 11-week internship (June 9 – August 22, 2025) offers college/university students valuable work experience and insights into Wizards’ products. Interns gain hands-on experience, receive training, have executive exposure, benefit from individual development planning and mentorship. The program focuses on supporting gaming communities on university campuses.
Job Description: University Program Development Intern
This role will help Wizards understand and develop programs to support Magic: The Gathering in university settings. The intern will work closely with the team to research, strategize, and create recommendations for engaging university gaming clubs and student organizations. Key responsibilities include:
• Market Research & Analysis:
• Identify key trends in university gaming communities, analyzing student engagement with Magic on campus.
• Benchmark university gaming programs from other TCGs and brands.
• Research how university/campus clubs and organizations form (structure, governance), and how Wizards can work within these structures.
• Strategy Development:
• Explore partnership opportunities with student clubs to create engaging play experiences.
• Identify the needs of university organizers and students to maximize engagement.
• Create recommendations on how Wizards can better support Magic in university settings.
• Pilot Program Support:
• Identify potential pilot program partners at select universities.
• Assist in crafting pilot initiatives for Magic engagement.
• Support campus activations and event structures for identified partners.
Qualifications:
• Currently enrolled in an accredited degree program (marketing, business administration, entrepreneurship, or a quantitative field) with at least one quarter/semester remaining after August 2025.
• Full-time availability for 11 weeks.
• Authorized to work in the U.S.
• Passion for Magic: The Gathering and gaming communities.
• Strong research, analysis, and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and synthesize data into actionable recommendations.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with university clubs, event organizing, or TCG communities.
Compensation: $31-$35/hour (USD). Additional benefits are also offered.
