U-Box Customer Care Driver Responsibilities

• Operate a flatbed truck: Training will be provided to ensure you are proficient and safe in operating our specialized delivery vehicles.
• Operate an 8000-lb propane forklift or a truck-mounted forklift: Comprehensive training is provided for all necessary equipment to safely load and unload containers.
• Load and unload storage containers for delivery: Efficiently manage the loading and unloading process of U-Box storage containers.
• Transport storage containers to and from specified destinations: Safely deliver containers to customers’ homes and businesses within local routes only.
• Participate in ongoing continuous U-Haul education: Engage in learning and development through U-Haul University to enhance your skills and career.

Minimum Requirements

• Clean motor vehicle driving record: A strong and safe driving history is essential for this role.
• High school diploma or equivalent: Foundational education is required.
• Department of Transportation certification: Necessary certification to operate commercial vehicles.
• Commercial driver’s license (CDL): A valid CDL is a mandatory requirement for this driving position.

Work Environment

The work involves moderate risks or discomforts which require special safety precautions. You will be working around moving parts, machines, fumes, or chemicals. You may be required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, goggles, gloves, or shields to ensure your safety and compliance with company standards.

Physical Demands

The role requires some physical exertion. This includes long periods both indoors and outdoors while remaining stationary, traversing various spaces, repositioning to reach and use tools, and moving a minimum of 50 lbs assisted or unassisted. Candidates must be able to meet these physical requirements to perform the job effectively and safely.
