Job Description
This is a Travel Nurse position for ECU Health.
Position Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing nursing care in accordance with the North Carolina Board of Nursing-Nurse Practice Act, American Nurses Association Standards of Practice, and other established professional standards. Nursing care delivery must adhere to ECU Health and entity-specific nursing policies, procedures, and professional standards of care/practice.
Key responsibilities include:
• Provision and coordination of nursing care.
• Collection and analysis of assessment data.
• Identification of expected outcomes and development of a plan of care in collaboration with the patient/family and interdisciplinary team.
• Identifying interventions to achieve expected outcomes.
• Implementing interventions outlined in the plan of care.
• Evaluating the patient/family’s progress towards outcomes.
• Documenting the entire process.
• Providing care with sensitivity to age-specific and unique needs of the patient/family.
• Promoting and evaluating the effective functioning of the healthcare team.
• Collaborating with healthcare team members to meet patient/family needs throughout their care.
• Delegating tasks and activities appropriately as governed by the NC Nurse Practice Act.
Minimum Requirements:
• Education: Diploma in Nursing, Associates in Nursing, or higher. A Bachelor Degree is preferred.
• Experience: Greater than 1 year of nursing experience is required.
• Certifications: American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification is required. ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) is required for intensive or progressive care assignments.
• Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
• Flexibility in scheduling to meet the 24-hour needs of patients.
• Possession of organizational, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
• Ability to utilize effective and confidential communication in patient, interdisciplinary, and staff relationships.
• Maintains stable performance levels under conditions of pressure and multiple demands.
• Working knowledge and experience with PC-based applications.
Compensation Package:
• Base Pay: Up to $70 per hour for all travel nursing positions.
• Overtime/Holiday Pay: 1.5x base hourly rate for hours over 40 per week and for holiday shifts.
• Stand-by Pay: Additional $3.00 per hour.
• Charge/Preceptor Pay: Additional $2.00 per hour.
• Note: Travel Staffing positions are not eligible for health benefits, shift or weekend differentials, incentive pay, PTO (Paid Time Off), or float pool differentials.
Additional Position Details:
• Assignment Length: 13-week assignments with the option to extend at the discretion of the manager.
• Expectations for Travel Team Members:
• Float to other areas as needed.
• Rotate shifts to meet department needs as determined by the Manager (may include 11 a.m.-11 p.m., 7 a.m.-7 p.m., 3 p.m.-3 a.m., 7 p.m.-7 a.m., and/or other organizational shifts).
• Adhere to required attendance of unit staff meetings.
• Complete e-inform modules and required organizational continuing education.
• Use the scheduling system for managing schedules, including non-duty/time-off requests.
• Must not be currently employed by ECU Health and must have separated for 92 days, having left in good standing, to be eligible.
• Organizational policies will apply, notwithstanding specific Internal Travel Staffing Program specifications.
