Role Summary

As a Transportation/Community Infrastructure Engineering Intern, you will have a unique opportunity to work alongside professional engineers, gaining valuable practical experience and learning skills not typically taught in a classroom setting. Core Responsibilities

  • Work as an integral part of the traffic team, under the direct supervision of Senior Engineers, to perform design tasks for transportation and/or community infrastructure projects.
  • Assist with a diverse range of project assignments, contributing to various stages of project development.
  • Your work will encompass design, calculations, and plan development, providing hands-on experience in critical engineering processes.
  • Develop proficiency in industry-standard CAD design software, including AutoCAD, Civil3D, Microstation, and OpenRoads.
  • Learn and apply the established standards and tools of the trade to produce high-quality deliverables.
  • Effectively coordinate your work and school schedule with team members to ensure seamless project progression and personal academic success.

Qualifications, Skills, and Competencies

  • Currently a Junior or Senior actively pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (BSCE).
  • Demonstrate the intent to take and successfully pass the Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) exam.
  • Be highly motivated to work hard, learn new concepts, and acquire valuable engineering skills.
  • Possess strong written and verbal communication skills, essential for team collaboration and project documentation.
  • Proficient in using word processing, spreadsheet, and collaboration applications.
  • Be organized and capable of working effectively with different staff members across various projects.
  • Exhibit excellent time management skills to balance academic responsibilities with professional duties.
