Team Leader, Trade Operations | Mashreq

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Mashreq, located in Hong Kong. Mashreq provides banking and financial services, and this role is crucial for ensuring the smooth and compliant execution of trade finance operations, directly impacting customer service and the bank’s adherence to international regulations. The Team Leader is expected to uphold high standards of document examination and operational efficiency.

• Mission: To ensure efficient, compliant, and high-quality processing of trade finance transactions while maintaining strong customer service.

What You’ll Actually Do
• Compliance Checking: Examine trade documents against L/C, SBLC, UCP, ISBP, ISP, ICC guidelines, and internal bank policies.
• Transaction Processing: Input trade documents into the system, prepare SWIFT messages for advising, and handle Commodity Trade Operations documents.
• Quality Assurance: Act as the final checker for import and export bills, ensuring consistent examination standards within the team.
• Operational Improvement: Identify and address document rejection issues, implement solutions rapidly, and collaborate with onshore units for seamless client delivery.
• Regulatory Adaptation: Recommend necessary actions to align operations with changes in laws, ICC rules, government regulations, and bank policies.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant field, coupled with expertise in Trade Operations.
• Experience: 5-8 years of relevant working experience, with at least 3-4 years specifically in Trade Operations roles.
• Skills: Strong knowledge of UCP/ISBP/ISP, MS Office proficiency (Word and Excel), analytical skills, attention to detail, and strong communication and interpersonal skills.
