About the Role: Your Responsibilities & Impact

This internship is meticulously designed, in close collaboration with your university, to provide a rich learning experience that integrates academic knowledge with practical application. You will have the unique opportunity to apply cognitive behavioral therapies (CBT) and a range of social services under expert supervision. Your specific duties, developed jointly with your academic institution, may include:

  • Direct Patient & Family Support: Provide essential social services and therapeutic interventions to patients, their families, and significant others, fostering a supportive environment for recovery and growth.
  • Clinical Documentation Excellence: Meticulously complete all required documentation, including comprehensive discharge paperwork, ensuring accuracy and timeliness to maintain high standards of patient care and compliance.
  • Clinical Leadership & Guidance: Offer leadership and guidance in the implementation of evidence-based clinical interventions, contributing to effective treatment plans and patient outcomes.
  • Professional Communication: Engage in professional, clear, and accurate communication with patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members, facilitating understanding and collaboration.
  • Interdisciplinary Collaboration: Demonstrate a strong interdisciplinary approach, actively facilitating effective communication and teamwork among all members of the care team to ensure holistic patient care.
  • Committee Participation: Contribute to the continuous improvement of services by actively participating in site committees, offering your insights and fresh perspectives.
  • Ensuring Safety: Play a crucial role in maintaining a safe environment for all patients and staff, adhering to all facility safety protocols and standards.

Education & Training Requirements: Building Your Foundation

To thrive in this challenging yet rewarding role, candidates must meet the following essential requirements:

  • Academic Enrollment: Hold a completed Bachelor’s Degree and be currently enrolled in an accredited Master’s Degree program in Social Work or Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
  • Therapeutic Knowledge: Possess a working knowledge of therapeutic interventions and techniques applicable to all age groups, coupled with an understanding of human growth and behavior dynamics.
  • Onboarding Completion: Successfully complete all mandatory Rogers onboarding training coursework prior to your start date, ensuring a smooth transition into your role.
  • Aggression Management Training: Successfully complete formal training in the management of aggressive patients (NCI – Non-Violent Crisis Intervention) within sixty (60) days of your placement date. Annual re-certification will be provided and is required.
  • Background & Health Clearances: Successfully complete pre-placement background checks through the Rogers system and obtain occupational health clearance from your provider.
