Job Title: Test Intern
Summary of the Role:
As a Test Intern, you will be a vital member of our engineering team, collaborating with experienced engineers and industry professionals to develop and rigorously test cutting-edge hardware and firmware solutions. These solutions are designed to optimize industrial operations and help our customers realize the vision of the Connected Enterprise.
The role offers hands-on experience across two key testing categories:
- Hardware Test: You will be responsible for defining test requirements, executing comprehensive hardware verification test plans (including board-level functional testing, EMC validation, Certification Agency compliance like UL, ATEX, IECEX, and Functional Safety standards such as IEC 61508). This involves programming, performing in-depth analysis, and troubleshooting electronic hardware prototypes, while also contributing to essential product design documentation and test reports.
- Firmware Test: If you thrive on pushing products to their performance limits to meet stringent industrial standards, this role is for you. Key activities include designing and developing scripts for automating test procedures, documenting test procedures, executing both manual and automated tests to verify product functionality, creating detailed test reports, assisting with lab audit and improvement initiatives, and supporting the build and commissioning of test firmware and hardware platforms.
What Success in the Position Looks Like:
Success in this role means becoming a significant contributor to the team by:
- Successfully developing, executing, and reporting on robust hardware verification test plans that ensure product compliance with critical industry standards (EMC, UL, ATEX, IECEX, IEC 61508).
- Proficiently programming, analyzing, and troubleshooting electronic hardware prototypes, ensuring their optimal performance and reliability.
- Designing and implementing efficient, high-quality automation scripts that streamline firmware test procedures and enhance testing efficiency.
- Consistently producing thorough and accurate test documentation, including detailed procedures and comprehensive test reports.
- Actively participating in lab improvement activities and contributing to the overall quality and efficiency of our testing environments.
- Demonstrating a strong understanding of industrial components and their rigid standards, effectively pushing products to their limits through rigorous testing.
- Proactively learning and contributing to associated product design documentation, demonstrating a holistic understanding of the product development lifecycle.
How This Role Fits Into the Organization Overall:
The Test Intern role is integral to our core mission of optimizing industrial operations and delivering reliable, high-performance solutions. By meticulously testing our hardware and firmware, you directly contribute to the quality, safety, and compliance of products that empower our customers to bring the “Connected Enterprise” to life. This position is at the forefront of ensuring product excellence and reliability, which is crucial for customer trust and market leadership. As an intern, you will not only gain valuable hands-on experience but also receive comprehensive exposure to the fundamental business structure of the company, understanding how your technical contributions directly impact our strategic goals and customer success.
