About the Job: Test Intern
Our Test Interns play a pivotal role, working alongside a dedicated team of engineers and industry professionals. You will contribute to the development and testing of cutting-edge hardware and firmware, aimed at optimizing industrial operations and bringing the Connected Enterprise to life for our customers. This internship offers a unique opportunity to be a significant contributor, gaining comprehensive exposure to our company’s business structure and impact.
Our test roles are categorized into two exciting areas:
1. Hardware Test Intern
If you’re passionate about the physical components, this role involves:
- Developing test requirements and executing comprehensive hardware verification test plans.
- Focusing on critical areas such as board-level functional testing, EMC validation, and ensuring compliance with various Certification Agencies (e.g., UL, ATEX, IECEX).
- Contributing to Functional Safety standards (IEC 61508).
- Performing programming, analysis, and troubleshooting of electronic hardware prototypes.
- Contributing to associated product design documentation and test reports.
2. Firmware Test Intern
For those who enjoy pushing products to their limits to meet the rigid standards of industrial components, your activities will include:
- Designing and developing scripts for automating test procedures.
- Documenting test procedures thoroughly.
- Executing both manual and automated test procedures for verification of product functionality.
- Creating detailed test reports.
- Assisting with lab audit/improvement initiatives.
- Supporting the build and commissioning of test firmware and hardware platforms.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Pursuing a bachelor’s or advanced degree in Electrical Engineering or a similar field from an accredited college or university.
- Basic programming skills in languages such as C++, C#, Java, Python, JavaScript, or LabVIEW.
- Basic knowledge of circuit theory and operation, including microprocessors, digital logic devices, analog and/or DC-power conversion, and programmable devices (CPLDs, FPGAs).
- Experience with Power Electronics or motors.
- Familiarity with design capture tools.
- Ability to work with schematic drawings.
- Familiarity with tools such as CAD, Creoparametric, ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning), 3D Modeling, SAP, or Matlab.
- Experience with industrial automation environments, including PLC or drives programming.
- Experience using Agile methodology.
Compensation:
The compensation for this role is $22-32 hourly.
