2025 Technology Summer Analyst Program (Alpharetta)
This 10-week program offers a real-world, project-based experience for aspiring technologists. Summer Analysts will be placed into specific development, engineering, or business & data analytics teams, gaining firsthand knowledge of what it’s like to work at a top financial firm.
Training Program:
• Induction day: Provides an overview of Morgan Stanley and its operations.
• Team Placement: Summer Analysts are placed into their respective teams.
• Live Project: The core of the program, offering practical experience in their chosen field.
• Networking Events: Opportunities to connect with senior management.
• Technical Demonstrations: Insight into the latest technologies.
• Team Building: Fostering teamwork and collaboration skills.
• Community Service Initiatives: Giving back to the community.
Role and Responsibilities:
• Development Teams:
• Design, develop, and maintain applications used by Morgan Stanley’s business units.
• Gather and analyze requirements from clients.
• Make system design decisions.
• Evaluate, integrate, and develop necessary software.
• Test and deploy applications to production.
• Examples of projects: Developing high-performing, low-latency electronic trading systems, evolving complex workflows and life-cycle management capabilities.
• Enterprise Engineering Teams:
• Develop cutting-edge systems to run Morgan Stanley’s business.
• Provide tools, applications, and platforms such as the firm’s networks, computing hardware, operating systems, and databases.
• Examples of projects: Engineering the firm’s websites, managing the Windows plant, developing a client reporting delivery system.
• Business & Data Analytics Teams:
• Engage with business units to analyze, capture, and validate requirements with technology teams.
• Solve business challenges in an agile fashion.
• Provide technical, data analytics, data science, and process excellence skills to support product and data analysis as well as end-to-end solution development.
Qualifications and Skills:
• General:
• Cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, teamwork, and analytical skills.
• Experience in the financial services sector is not required.
• Development/Enterprise Engineering:
• Studying towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Software Engineering, or other related technical majors.
• Strong understanding of Linux/Unix and Windows.
• Competency in at least one programming language (e.g., C, C++, Java, or C#).
• Experience in object-oriented development.
• Good comprehension of data structures, algorithms, and complexity theory.
• Strong database and scripting skills.
• Business & Data Analytics:
• Studying towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or other related majors with a keen interest in the financial services industry.
• Strong technical knowledge.
• Ability to document IT solution requirements (business, functional, and/or technical).
