Investment Banking Associate – Technology | Oppenheimer & Co. Inc.

The Tone:
This is a full-time role at Oppenheimer & Co. Inc., located in San Francisco, CA. Oppenheimer is a leading middle-market investment bank and full-service broker-dealer, engaged in a broad range of financial services activities with roots tracing back to 1881. This position is for a critical member of the Technology Investment Banking team, playing a leadership role in transaction execution. The Associate will contribute to delivering innovative, market-based strategies and capital to high-growth, entrepreneurial, middle-market technology companies.

• Mission: Lead the full cycle of transactional execution for technology clients across various verticals including Software, Internet, and Hardware.
• Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel, Dealogic, CapIQ, Bloomberg, MS Office suite

What You’ll Actually Do
• Prepare marketing pitches, internal committee memoranda, and client presentations as part of transactional execution.
• Review and formulate complex financial analyses and models for various strategic and financial matters.
• Lead the execution function, including coordinating group efforts and working with analysts while assisting senior bankers.
• Conduct thorough due diligence investigations for potential transactions and advisory engagements.
• Present materials internally to senior bankers and externally to clients of the firm.

The Must-Haves
• Background: Associate (1st or 2nd year) with core domain knowledge in investment banking, specifically within the Technology sector.
• Experience: At least 3 years of experience in investment banking, primarily Technology related.
• Skills: Strong quantitative, writing, and interpersonal skills; elevated attention to detail and consistency in work product; strong work ethic and team player mentality with the ability to multi-task; organized and proactive approach. Essential Microsoft Excel skills.
• Bonus: Knowledge of Dealogic, CapIQ, Bloomberg, and MS Office suite. FINRA Series 63, 79 registrations and Securities Industry Essentials (SIE) Exam required at time of hiring or shortly thereafter.
