Internship Program Overview
Liberty Bank is thrilled to host a dynamic and diverse 10-week summer internship program, designed to cultivate the next generation of banking and finance professionals. This immersive program will be conducted full-time on-site in Middletown, CT.
Participants will gain invaluable experience working closely with seasoned professionals, contributing to real-world projects, and developing essential skills crucial for successful careers in the financial services industry and beyond.
Role Summary: Technology Intern
As a Technology Intern, you will play a pivotal role in directly supporting our technology innovation initiatives and the transformation of IT operations across the organization. Under the guidance of senior technology leaders, you will be instrumental in researching emerging tech trends, such as Software Defined Networking (SDN) and advanced Cloud practices, to assess their potential impact on the bank’s infrastructure and operational efficiency.
You will contribute significantly to developing strategic roadmaps, piloting new technologies, and ensuring that technical architectures align seamlessly with our 2026 business goals, ultimately enhancing the consumer experience.
Essential Functions:
- Technology Research & Innovation: Analyze comprehensive industry reports and market trends to identify cutting-edge technologies that can provide a significant competitive edge for our infrastructure and the bank as a whole.
- Strategic Roadmapping: Assist in the crucial development and refinement of IT strategic roadmaps and operating models, driving forward our technology transformation agenda.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Act as a vital bridge between various IT teams and diverse business units, ensuring that technology plans are perfectly aligned with cross-functional strategic priorities.
- Network Evolution: Provide critical support for the successful implementation of enterprise-level network and cloud capabilities, enhancing our operational backbone.
- Reporting & Presentation: Prepare detailed, insightful reports and compelling presentations for executive leadership, summarizing key research findings, current project statuses, and integration performance metrics.
- Standards & Governance: Actively contribute to incorporating and meticulously documenting domain standards and best practices, with a specific focus on building secure-by-design systems and robust AI governance frameworks.
- Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. Preferred candidates will be majoring in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- A solid, demonstrable understanding of computer science fundamentals, the software development lifecycle, and system architecture.
- Familiarity with relevant programming languages and technologies (e.g., operating systems, networking technologies, cloud platforms like Azure).
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling clear and effective interaction.
- Demonstrated proficiency in computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proven analytical skills, capable of dissecting complex information and drawing sound conclusions.
- Proven critical thinking skills, essential for problem-solving and strategic planning.
- Strong organizational skills, ensuring efficient management of tasks and projects.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to operate general office equipment.
- Keyboard dexterity for extended periods.
- Lifting/carrying up to 25 lbs.
- Ability to travel as required.
