About the Technology Team
The WABC Technology team is responsible for the design and maintenance of all broadcast, IT, and newsroom systems that enable WABC to produce and deliver news every single day.
Internship Description
This internship offers the opportunity to work alongside senior engineers and project managers, gaining hands-on experience with the following:
• Testing new software deployments
• Developing training materials
• Troubleshooting broadcast issues
This internship will provide a unique insight into what it takes to operate the #1 broadcast station in the country.
Daily Tasks
As an intern, you will be actively involved in problem-solving, working with:
• Production teams to understand their workflows and propose time-saving solutions
• Design engineers to assemble equipment lists for new studio builds and ensure proper delivery
Required Qualifications and Skills
• Proven skills using Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
• Familiarity with basic video production techniques
• Understanding of Television Production Workflows
• Strong desire to be part of a fast-paced, agile organization
• Attention to detail, exacting standards, and outstanding organization skills
Preferred Qualifications
• Familiarity with Broadcast Production & Distribution Systems
• Understanding of the network affiliate relationship model
• Previous work or internship experience in the field of television
Eligibility Requirements
• Enrollment in an accredited college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter prior to participation in the internship program
• OR must have graduated from a college/university within 6 months at the time of application posting
• OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship
• Minimum age: 18 years old
• Not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
• Possess unrestricted work authorization
Additional Information
• Consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the internship
• Approximate dates: January 2025 through June 2025
• Work schedule: 20 hours/week, Monday-Friday (hours and days to be determined by supervisor)
• Provide own housing in the New York, New York area
• Provide reliable transportation to/from work in the New York area
