Capital One recognizes the lack of representation in the tech industry and computer science programs. They’ve launched the Technology Early Internship Program (Tech EIP) to create a pathway into tech for students from diverse backgrounds and experiences. Technology Early Internship Program – Summer 2025:
This is a full-time, paid internship program spanning ten weeks from June through August 2025. Participants must be located in the continental United States and attend their assigned location in-person.
The Tech EIP is a unique blended learning program designed to equip participants with the necessary skills and experience to launch a successful career in software engineering at Capital One.
What the program offers:
• A mini-bootcamp experience to hone coding skills and learn from skilled Capital One software engineers.
• The opportunity to work with a team on a real-world Capital One project.
• Hands-on experience in the world of tech at Capital One.
• Development of software engineering skills to prepare for a future career.
What participants will gain:
• Programming knowledge and proficiency: The program will guide participants to increase their proficiency in full stack development, targeting technologies like Git & GitHub, React, Node, Go, iOS, Swift, SwiftUI, and more.
• Mentorship and training: Participants will receive mentorship and training on topics like AWS, the Software Development Life Cycle, Enterprise Architecture Application Design, and more.
• Hands-on experience: The program combines classroom-style learning with on-the-job experience, allowing participants to gain practical skills.
• Valuable relationships: Interns will build valuable relationships with leaders, engineers, and other program participants, including one-on-one mentorship.
• Access to BRGs: The program provides access to Capital One’s Diversity, Inclusion, and Belonging Business Resource Groups (BRGs) for professional development, connections, cultural celebrations, and community engagement.
• Continuous learning: Interns have access to Capital One’s Tech College, a world-class learning hub that offers online and in-person classes in various disciplines.
Eligibility:
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree with an expected graduation date of August 2027 or earlier.
• Completion of sophomore or 2nd year of coursework by the program start date.
• Must be continuing in the same course of study of their Bachelor’s degree following completion of the internship.
Preferred Currently pursuings:
• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in a technical or quantitative discipline (computer science, computer engineering, information systems, information technology, mathematics, or other STEM major).
• Strong analytical, quantitative, problem-solving, and conceptual skills.
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, and communication skills.
• Demonstrated interest in pursuing a software engineering career (hackathons, personal technical projects, tech training platforms, relevant coursework, etc.).
• Beginner programming skills or experience.
