Job Description: Technology Assurance Audit Intern

KPMG is seeking a Technology Assurance Audit Intern to join its Audit Services team. This is an in-person internship, requiring an average of three days per week in a KPMG office or client location. Some client engagements may necessitate travel and extended stays.

Responsibilities:

IT System Understanding & Documentation: Learn to prepare comprehensive and well-organized documentation detailing the understanding of clients’ processes and IT systems.
IT Control Testing: Under guidance, execute and document tests of clients’ IT controls, adhering to established standards and terminology.
Data & Analytics (D&A) Support: Work within the audit team to leverage D&A in audits, encompassing data extraction, analysis, and the use of various technologies and tools. This includes utilizing AI, Excel, Alteryx, SQL, Python, and Power BI to perform substantive IT audit procedures and preparing related documentation.
Finding Identification & Communication: Identify and clearly communicate audit findings and recommendations to team members.
Technology Utilization: Employ available technologies, systems, and tools to support engagement activities.
Emerging Technology Exploration: Stay updated on new and emerging technologies and identify opportunities for intelligent automation.

Qualifications:

Education: Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Management Information Systems, Accounting Information Systems, or a comparable program. An Information Systems degree with an Accounting double major is preferred. Upon internship completion, additional academic credits must remain to be completed before degree attainment and/or CPA eligibility.
GPA: Preferred GPA of 3.0 or higher.
Technical Skills: General understanding of business systems, technology, and data analysis tools. Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or Workday) is preferred but not required. Strong technical aptitude, critical thinking, and a focus on quality service are essential. Proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook) is mandatory.
Soft Skills: Excellent communication, time management, and leadership skills; adaptability, teamwork, resourcefulness, and the ability to deliver high-quality work. Project management skills are a plus.
Location: Must reside within reasonable commuting distance of the office and have reliable transportation.
