About the Job
The Technical Service/Application Development Rep will build on our value proposition, enhancing our relations with customers, licensors, engineering firms, and OEM’s. The person will be a focal point for all HTF-related technical service needs in the North and South America region.
Responsibilities
• Support development and execution of regional and global strategic marketing initiatives to help achieve the growth goals for the heat transfer business.
• Develop key relationships throughout the value chain as well as with current customers and non-customers to understand new/growth markets and their drivers, unmet customer needs, and value creation opportunities for our products and services.
• Provide “world-class” technical support in areas of fluid selection, engineering seminars, design reviews, on-site consultation, and troubleshooting to customers.
• Support the sample analysis program for accurate technical interpretation and timely feedback to customers. Follow-up of Therminol and competitive sample evaluation to create new business opportunities.
• Evaluate enhancements to the Total Lifecycle Care program to generate additional business via an enhanced service program.
• Work with Regional Commercial Lead and Technical Service Management to provide technical service in alignment with business strategy. Support sales team training and on-going support of existing sales tools.
• Support sales in the execution of sales opportunities by providing technical information on our and competitive HTF products.
• Identify, develop and maintain an excellent knowledge and understanding of applications.
• Work effectively and maintain strong relationships with a variety of different functions within the chemical industry, from engineering companies, original equipment manufacturers to end-users.
• Support lead qualification and provide consultation for hotline and website customers.
• Communicate technical information and help develop technical content to support the value proposition of Eastman’s HTFs.
• Implementation of safety principles and practices into daily work routines, and in support of the safe handling of our products by others.
• Document and communicate all customer activities utilizing Sales Force.
• Prepare and review technical subject matter articles for publication.
Qualifications
• BS in Engineering or Chemistry
• 8+ years of experience in Heat Transfer Fluids
• 5+ years of experience in Oil and Gas applications
• Strong business/marketing acumen
• Experience with technical support on products for the chemical processing industry is a plus
• Experience with process simulations is a plus
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English
• Culturally aware and comfortable with international travel
• A team player with initiative, good analytical and trouble-shooting skills, able to work under minimum supervision
• Ability to influence without authority on cross-functional and cross-regional teams
