About The Role: Technical Scholar (AI Focus)

As a Technical Scholar at TD SYNNEX, your primary responsibility will be to serve as a pivotal guide for our resellers navigating the complex TD SYNNEX ecosystem. You will provide essential presales design consultation, with a specialized focus on cutting-edge AI technologies. This is a unique part-time, hybrid opportunity designed for current students, requiring approximately 60% in-office presence at our Clearwater, FL location.

Technical Scholars are expected to possess a foundational understanding of current enterprise technologies, including but not limited to modernized cloud environments, robust security solutions, data center operations, and advanced networking infrastructure. This knowledge will enable you to:

• Provide insightful product recommendations.
• Create accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs).
• Effectively scope projects.
• Furnish crucial licensing information for products not directly supported by the existing Pre-Sales Sales Engineering team.

Candidates must be actively pursuing a degree in a technical field and capable of balancing part-time work with their academic commitments. Beyond core support, you will engage in hands-on product demonstrations within our dedicated lab facilities and collaborate on various projects with assigned personal mentors across diverse technical disciplines. There will also be opportunities to work in teams on specific AI-centric projects, fostering collaborative innovation.

This role is strategically positioned as an entry point, offering a direct pathway for potential full-time employment upon graduation. It aims to cultivate a robust early-career talent pipeline, meticulously preparing students for a wide array of functional roles within TD SYNNEX.

What You’ll Do

• Consult and advise customers and end-users, primarily at a deep technical level.
• Design and configure appropriate technical solutions for customers, with a strong emphasis on modern infrastructure and advanced AI technologies.
• Leverage internal groups, including AI product management staff, to optimize sales opportunities and solution delivery.
• Continuously learn and stay updated with the latest modern infrastructure AI technology, AI projects, and products offered through TD SYNNEX.
• Document AI customer calls clearly and accurately within a JIRA activity tracking database.
• Collaborate in groups to develop AI or similar Use Cases, actively putting them into practice and demonstrating them to Product teams, customers, and vendors.

What We’re Looking For

This is an Entry Level position, requiring 0 to 1 years of relevant work experience.

• Education: Some college required. Ideally, candidates will be hired in the beginning of their Senior year, pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in an AI-related technical field.
• Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with individuals of varying expertise levels.
• Technical Awareness (Awareness of tools and concepts such as):
  • Programming & Development: Python, containers, Git, Shell Scripting.
  • AI/ML Specifics: LLM Solutions, Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), Data Science project work, Panda, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, CUDA.
  • Web Development: Web development frameworks like Flask, FastAPI, React.js.
  • Cloud & Data: Cloud fundamentals (AWS, Azure, or GCP), Vector databases & embeddings (ChromaDB).
• Execution & Clarity: Able to execute instructions precisely and confidently request clarification when needed.
• Office Proficiency: Proficient in using common office equipment and possessing strong data entry skills.
• Analytical Skills: Able to perform complex mathematical calculations, demonstrate complex problem-solving, critical thinking, and sound decision-making abilities.
• Attention to Detail: Able to recognize and attend to important details with accuracy and efficiency.
• Communication: Able to converse and write effectively in English (and other local/regional languages as applicable).
• Presentation Skills: Able to create and conduct formal presentations.
• Interpersonal Skills: Able to interact effectively with high levels of management (managers & above).
• Negotiation & Persuasion: Able to negotiate skillfully and promote/sell ideas persuasively.
