About the Internship Program
We are seeking a Technical Intern for our Noblis 2026 Summer Internship Program. This internship offers hands-on experience in Virtual Reality (VR) development and the opportunity to work with cutting-edge immersive technologies. We are looking for a motivated coder looking to expand their skill sets on a team that excels in leveraging the latest development tools and hardware platforms to expand the art of the possible in virtual and augmented reality systems. The immersive systems development intern will be an integral part of our virtual reality systems development team in the Noblis Immersive Systems Laboratory.
Responsibilities
- Implement VR features including interactions, physics, and user interfaces
- Debug and troubleshoot VR-specific issues across various platforms
- Apply VR best practices for performance optimization and user comfort
- Collaborate with designers and developers to integrate VR assets and features
- Document code and maintain technical documentation
- Test VR experiences and provide feedback on usability and performance
- Integrate VR SDKs and third-party plugins
Required Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Game Development, or related field with a 3.3 GPA and at least one semester left in school
- US Citizen
- Familiarity with VR development concepts and platforms
- Understanding of 3D mathematics, physics, and spatial computing
- Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Passion for VR technology and immersive experiences
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with VR SDKs and standards (XR Interaction Toolkit, Oculus Integration, SteamVR, OpenXR)
- Knowledge of version control systems (Git)
- Understanding of performance optimization techniques for VR

Compensation at Noblis is determined by various factors, including but not limited to, the combination of education, certifications, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, internal and external equity, location, clearance level, as well as contract-specific affordability, organizational requirements and applicable employment laws. The projected compensation range for this position is based on full time status. For part time or on-call staff, compensation is proportionately adjusted based on hours worked. While monetary compensation is important, it’s just one component of Noblis’ total compensation package.
Posted Salary Range: USD $23.00 – USD $38.00 /Hr.
