Job Description:
Salt Lake County is seeking professionals for a paid Technical Director Intern position in Salt Lake City, UT. This is a temporary, part-time role (14 hours per week, Monday-Friday, possibly some weekends) reporting to the assigned Technical Director and Theatre Operations Manager. The position offers flexible hours to accommodate a school schedule.
Responsibilities:
• Assist with and coordinate daily technical director operations and activities at the Arts & Culture facilities.
• Assist with operations of Arts & Cultures facilities and ensures buildings are maintained and operating safely and efficiently and are properly evacuated in case of emergencies.
• Coordinate with the event management team to ensure that all events needs and activities are planned and executed to the client’s satisfaction during events.
• Work with the production team to coordinate the needs of the show.
• Advance upcoming events.
• The candidate will have an opportunity to learn skills from the different positions that are held within the Arts & Culture division.
• A mentor will be assigned to guide and assist the intern’s development and growth.
Minimum Qualifications:
• Candidates must be currently enrolled in coursework related to all aspects of Technical Direction; e.g., stage lighting, production audio, theatrical rigging, or theatrical production management.
• Basic computer knowledge is required.

• A current college transcript OR a letter from a professor (which must be on official letterhead)
Additional Information:
• Temporary, “At Will”, FLSA non-exempt position.
• Not eligible for County benefits.
• Must work an average of 29 hours or less per week or an average of 129 hours or less per month.
• Pay: Up to \$15.00/hour.
