About The Role & Program:
Join Disney Live Entertainment, a team dedicated to creating, producing, and delivering remarkable and engaging entertainment experiences through innovative storytelling and a culture of collaboration. Our work brings magic to life at Disney theme parks, resort hotels, cruise ships, and other locations worldwide, encompassing a diverse range of disciplines from technical directors and writers to choreographers and music producers. We achieve this through technical expertise, performance excellence, incomparable ingenuity, unparalleled spectacle… and a dash of pixie dust!
This is a full-time, 6-month internship program, scheduled to run from June 2026 through January 2027.
What You Will Do:
As part of the Technical Direction Team, you will play a crucial role in facilitating the seamless integration of all design fields that contribute to the compelling stories within our live show offerings. This includes a wide array of productions such as parades, stage shows, and special events, both on and off Disney property.
We are seeking an individual with an innovative mindset and a profound fervor for maintaining Disney quality and infusing Magical creativity into every aspect. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated individual committed to ensuring that Disney’s esteemed standards are consistently reflected across all design and technical materials.
Responsibilities Can Include:
- Supporting the Technical Director throughout the technical production process.
- Producing essential documentation, including technical intent and drawing packages.
- Conducting on-site surveys to ensure appropriate technical integration within various locations.
- Collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams, including designers, safety teams, engineers, and facility teams.
- Assisting with updates to critical technical documentation packages, such as the scope of work and deliverables matrix.
- Aiding in comprehensive design and technical research efforts.
- Creating and meticulously maintaining sustainment documentation.
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Excellent oral/written communication and interpersonal skills.
- A confirmed understanding of the performing arts industry with practical experience in Theatre and/or live events.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while consistently meeting key touch points.
- Strong leadership qualities and a genuine zeal for team collaboration.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize multiple tasks and handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
- Working knowledge of industry-standard drafting programs such as AutoCAD, Vectorworks, and Revit.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of Engineering, Architecture and Design, and Construction Management principles.
- Practical fabrication skills.
- Experience in Project Management.
- Previous experience in Design or Technical roles within a theatrical or live event setting.
Education:
- Currently enrolled as a Junior, Senior, or Graduate student (MFA).
- Earning a degree in a technical design-related field.
Eligibility Requirements & Program Information:
Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all the requirements below:
- Be enrolled in an accredited college/university, taking at least one class at the time of application posting, OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Possess unrestricted work authorization in the US.
- Possess a valid US driver’s license and have the ability to operate a company vehicle.
- Have not completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or Disney College Program.
- Be able to maintain a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the entire internship duration.
Additional Information:
- Must be compliant with The Disney Look appearance guidelines.
- Able to provide reliable transportation to/from work.
- Must be fully available for the duration of the internship.

Compensation:
The pay rate for this role, located in Orlando, FL, is $18.75 per hour.
